Hot Net Payout Yield Stocks To Buy For 2014

The crown jewel of Intel's (NASDAQ: INTC  ) competitive advantage is, above all else, the company's leading-edge manufacturing technology. In today's world, any company can license great CPU and graphics IP and develop a processor for just about any market segment other than PCs. The only way Intel can truly differentiate is by having manufacturing technology that no other company can match. While Intel claims to have a manufacturing lead, it's worth peeling back these claims and understanding exactly what's going on here.

OK, what's everybody claiming?
Intel is claiming the following in terms of product rollouts:

Cherry Trail (14-nanometer tablet product) launching in late 2014. Broadwell (14-nanometer PC products) launching in H2 2014. Broxton (14-nanometer smartphone/tablet converged product) launching in H2 2015. SoFIA 14-nanomater (14-nanometer low-cost smartphone/tablet product) launching in either Q4 2015 or Q1 2016.

On the other hand, Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM  ) and Samsung, the two remaining leading-edge foundries, are claiming that their 14/16-nanometer process technologies will be in high volume production during 2015. If we look at what has been announced so far in the way of products and timelines, we can get a sense of Intel's competitive position:

Sure Intercept Pharmaceuticals (ICPT) might feel like the only biotech stock that matters today, but there are others. For instance, Incyte (INCY) and BioMarin (BMRN) are on the move after Barclays changed its ratings on the pair.

  • [By Monica Gerson]

BioMarin Pharmaceutical (NASDAQ: BMRN) shares moved up 1.48% to $78.64. The volume of BioMarin Pharmaceutical shares traded was 966% higher than normal. BioMarin shares jumped on Roche Holding (OTC: RHHBY) takeover report..

Clovis isn't the only one developing a PARP inhibitor, though. BioMarin Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: BMRN  ) presented data at ASCO for BMN673, where 82% of patients with BRCA mutations had a clinical benefit. There were 28 patients in that part of the trial, so the data could be more reproducible than rucaparib's seven out of seven. BioMarin also has solid data for breast tumors with BRCA mutations. Shares of BioMarin actually fell a little today, but I think the data were widely expected to be positive, so there's likely a little "sell the news" going on.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Jonas Elmerraji]

First up is $10 billion flooring maker Mohawk Industries (MHK). 2013 has been a stellar year for shares of Mohawk, with the stock rallying more than 46% on the strength of the housing sector.

But don't ignore this stock just because you missed the move. MHK looks well-positioned for more upside in 2013.

That's because Mohawk is currently forming an ascending triangle pattern, a bullish price setup that's formed by a horizontal resistance level above shares (at $135 in this case) and uptrending support to the downside. Basically, as shares of MHK bounce in between those two technical price levels, they're getting squeezed closer and closer to a breakout above resistance. When that breakout happens, it's time to be a buyer.

Shares have gotten swatted down on each of the last four attempts at the $135 level. That glut of selling pressure makes a move through it all the more significant. We could see another test of $135 happen this week.
